Leithu
The World of Leithu
The world of Leithu is expansive and magical. With five distinct continents with their varied biomes, the life around the world is as unique as it is mysterious. The visual world shared on the parent pages gives you a feel for the regions, but these further descriptions will help you understand more about the continents.
General overview
Leithu is a parallel world to Earth where magic remains potent and integral to its existence. It is a realm teeming with raw magical energy, home to ancient and diverse races, unique mythical creatures (such as the great dragons Soria and Fornethus, and the shadow-born Umbraks), and often dangerous, untamed fauna. Access between Leithu and Earth is exceptionally rare. Primarily occurring through unstable, magically attuned portals that harness the chronal currents. Cassie and Evan locate a portal in the garden Shed in Mimi and Papa’s backyard. The portal can be activated by Zephron’s Spyglass.
Leithu’s more recent history is significantly tied to the arrival of “The Traveler,” Zephron Colombo Ferreriya, in the year 856 LY. He, along with his Leithu-born wife, the powerful magic-user Jasari, are the ancestors of the protagonists Cassidy and Evan. Much of Leithu’s ancient history, including details of lost kingdoms and powerful artifacts, remains shrouded in legend and fragmented records, forming the basis of many of the quests and mysteries the protagonists encounter.
Geography:
Leithu is a world of vast oceans interspersed with five major continents, each characterized by diverse and often extreme terrains, climates, and ecosystems.
TREGGOR:
The largest continent in Leithu and the initial primary setting for the series. Treggor boasts a wide range of environments:
- Southern Peninsula: Home to the Eirgana region, which includes the significant port town of Port Rentai. This area features coastal landscapes, rolling hills, and some forested areas.
- Northern Forests: Vast, ancient woodlands that house mystical locations such as the Magic Grove (home to the Lumiflora and the Oracle Tree), Elysium Lake, and the Forgotten River.
- Other Features: Extensive river systems, swamps, and significant mountain ranges including the Higher Lands and the remote Pranshu region where the Pranshu Stronghold is located.
- West Coast: Site of White Rock Harbor, a rough port town and Captain Jay’s base of operations.
- Notable Inhabitants/Dangers: Likely territory of the ancient dragon SCORIA (particularly in the southern regions).
CURANOR:
A major continent or island group located across the Great Sea, west of Treggor. It may be comprised of three main islands and includes the archipelago of the Thalorien Isles. Curanor is a land of wilder, less tamed territories.
- Known Locations: The tyrannical Wolf Kingdom, the towering mountain sanctuary of Bird Peak (home to the Birdmen and their elder, Aerion), and the site of the legendary floating city known as the Sky World.
- Historical Significance: Was once the territory of the ancient dragon AANAHKAAS. The Curanor Coins, bearing images of the Birdmen, the Storm Quill/Razorwind bird, and the Glass City of Garitel, are commonly found or originate from this region.
- Thalorien Isles: An archipelago of eleven distinct islands, including three dominant landmasses, located just east of the main Curanor continental area. Known for its temperate climate, thriving forests, rolling meadows, fertile valleys, and vibrant seasonal changes. Historically, Princess Anita Lorrento was associated with this region.
OFIMA:
A harsh, formidable continent characterized by its ice-covered landscapes, towering mountains, and vast glaciers.
- Known Locations: The cursed Sorentha ruins (where the Tears of Vanuth and Gemstone Chalice Collection are found) and the Garreldin region, the frigid native habitat of the Phalzen creature.
SILFAR:
A desolate southern continent, largely composed of arid deserts, sparse, hardy forests, and rivers with high salt content.
- Known Locations: The magically protected desert stronghold that serves as the lair for the ancient dragon FORNETHUS (guardian of the Tome of Nilesh, Sacred Alter of Nilesh, and Dirk of the Estranged).
- Historical Significance: Historically associated with FENTOR, who was once known as the “Wizard of Silfar.”
- Ancient 12 Kingdoms: The lost kingdom of Nilesh was thought to be located on Silfar.
RYFLIN:
A geologically active and volatile continent dominated by volcanoes and volcanic landscapes.
Known Locations: Contains a dangerous volcanic labyrinth leading to a sacred shrine where the Crown of Triton is hidden. Home to creatures like the Bollundus.
